Hey! It did says it is beta. No worry, here are some fixes I found on the net.
Font not displaying
Problem the font on the windows gui not displaying like in the second screenshot An new alternative Windows browser - Safari? You don't have the proper fonts installed.
Solution
- Close Safari
- Go to C:\Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources
- Copy Lucida Grande Bold.ttf and Lucida Grande.ttf to C:\Windows\Fonts
- Rename C:\Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources to C:\Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources.bak
- Start Safari, ignore the crash and close it
- Rename back the Safari.resources.bak to C:\Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources
- Start Safari and you are done!
Safari font fixedProxy
Need to connect through proxy? The proxy button could be grayed out or crashed your Safari.
Solution
- Safari is taking proxy setting from IE, set your proxy in IE and restart Safari
Blurry Font
Font might be hard to read or blurry on some monitor.
Solution
- Try adjusting the setting under Edit -> Preferences, Appearance tab -> Font smoothing option
- The default setting is Medium, you can try Light or Strong to see which one suits you
Has other problem & you know the solution? Post here so all can find the answer easily.
Regarding proxy support, Safari does not work if you have to authenticate to the proxy. I mean it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. Proxy authentication is BROKEN in Safari. So sad I have to uninstall it without even trying it properly.
