Onion Networks released a new HTTP stack called SwarmStream Public Edition (SSPE).

SSPE is a free plug-in for Java's network handlers that transparently speeds up and increases the reliability of network data transfer.

It provides nice features like:

• automatic retries
• no code-level/compile-time changes
• download acceleration using multi-connections
• reliable resume support by disk caching
• disconnected operation
• alternate mirror fail-over
• bandwidth throttling
